“You know how mobile Lucas is. A couple of two wall boasts I put in and he was just jumping all over them. To play him, you have to really get your tactics right and be deliberate when you go in short. Make sure you’re not chucking them out there easily because he’s so fluid and light and a great mover on court. You have to be really sensible and stick to your plan, otherwise you can open up too much and that’s not the way you want to play.
The Frenchman looked dead and buried at times during this long rally, but an unreal boast sees him win the point and keep the momentum in this third game!

“He came out very aggressive and I was a bit passive in my hitting. He actually didn’t miss much the first set, rolled a few. The second and third, I think I made a few mistakes at the start of each which gave him a lead. In the fourth and fifth I just wanted to cut those out because I was winning the back end of the games and I thought that if I got a lead at the start then I could hold that through each set.
